i've started packing me bags.

i haven't come on here in forever. i've finally got myself a job in korea, and i'll be leaving in a week or so! this has been a long time coming; such a painstakingly long awaited thing...but strangely enough its happened too suddenly and feels too soon. this blog will probably become one of those obnoxious 'i teach english overseas' blogs that will document my every waking moment, but please just put up with it har har. well, here's to exciting adventures! this little bird is finally leaving the damn nest.

i just called HR for the school that i'm waiting on for a job. when he called me on sunday i thought that i had it in the bag! unfortunately, it was actually him just letting me know about the position, and that the school is still looking over resumeS (plural!) and mine is just another one in the pile now! AHHHHH! i reeeeeaaally want the position......here's to hoping! and also to more waiting =P.

korea, like, seriously!

So my quest for a job in Korea has been dragged out for almost the greater part of a year now. this is reDONKulous. redonkulous. anyway, I've decided on a different school and I've been hounding the HR peeps via e-mail about jobs that start ASAP. the response has been less than timely and informative. gahhhhhhhh! I haven't given up my goals to be in Korea by January. if it takes longer than that then...wow I've wasted a lot of time sitting idly..not being a student...and not working towards any sort of career related to my stupid degree...blah?

Anyway, I've been having really strange dreams lately. Yes...strange...quite strange.

**update! i received a phonecall on Sunday for a job that starts ASAP! I said I'd take it! ...but now its Tuesday and I still haven't heard back with any further details =P....waiting is the worst part.

anywhoots, i've been in toronto now for exactly a week, and ive got a few things going on already!

First lets back track: im in toronto to test some waters. my plan is to stick around for about a month to see if i can make something of myself here. if i dont find good work, then i'll probably mosey back down to london, live in the basement of my parents house and work at whiteoaks mall (ummmmm...career suicide??)...until i eventually go to korea to work (play) for a year. hmm. post-grad life is heavy.

anywhoo, since ive been in toronto, ive done some extra work. its for a disney movie sequal that may or may not involve the jonas brothers. ive got a few job interviews lined up in the next few weeks too, but they arent for 'real' jobs...just retail =/...the real icing on the not so delicious cake, though, is that i got a volunteer spot for this years LG Fashion Week! WOOOT! i'm excited for the fun and excitement and added sparkle it will put on my resume HARHAR.
anyway...im off to some job fair of sorts.

hello all! i have a job now! woo!
its full time, and kind of long and boring (might i say depression and apathy inducing?), but its work and leads to greater things like...um..money. so i cant complain--woo!
BUT! theres a catch! dress code is business-casual! If you know me, you know that i dont do 'business'y things (unless its risky--HARDY HAR HAR, please do mind my sharp wit...o_O). the outfits im wearing are starting to get increasingly perposterous. everyday proves to be a brainstorming challenge of 'wtfrig am i going to wear??' followed by a massive scavenging fest of every closet and taped up box in my house. i dare not buy any new clothes for this job--I DARE NOT!! NAUGHT! ive concluded that since i hate 'business-casual' ive decided to recoin this term to...perhaps...'librarian-chic' GAHAHAHA. why do i love librarian-ness +_+.

500 days of summer.

i can't believe may is already over! and so soon! where has my summer gone? its been rain storming so much lately, that i've rarely been outside.
a quick update on my life? ive been up to no good. no good as in nothing at all. i need a job so i can make some CAD to exhange into some KRW for when i leave to the motherland. i'm quite excited to be an oblivious wandering gyopo expat! haha.
so anyways...i need a job and ive applied at numerous restaurants, grocers, etc. and havent heard back +_+. i'm so broke. SO SO BROKE. you know, the kind of broke where you only have like $2.74 in your bank account. !.

unless i push back my arrival date for korea, i wont be able to see this movie until wayyyyy after its released...if i scour the internet for a pirated version...eeee.
i love joseph gordon-levitt and zooey deschanel--i cant believe they're in a movie together! it looks too good to be true!!
